Company executives polled on CSRD readiness

Readiness

Here’s a note from Maria Tymtsias:

PwC conducted a global CSRD survey this spring by interviewing 547 executives and senior sustainability professionals across 30 countries.

The results of the survey are pretty intriguing at times. This survey might lift your spirits by seeing the level of readiness and advancement of other companies.

Here are some of the main findings:

1. 97% of companies publishing their sustainability statement in FY2025 are confident with reporting under CSRD.

2. More than 90% of companies are confident with reporting E1, S1, and G1 and only 62% are confident in meeting reporting requirements of E4 – biodiversity standard.

3. Only 38% of companies reporting in FY2025 have completed their double materiality assessment.

4. More than 50% of companies mention that the main CSRD reporting challenges include data quality, value chain complexity, and staff capacity.

5. And the most surprising – 74% of companies are still using spreadsheets for sustainability reporting.
